Talk-cum-workshop title 'Translation: skills and scope.'

Department of English organised talk-cum-workshop on 'Tanslation: skills and scope' by Mr. Damodar Ghanekar.


Mr. Damodar Ghanekar, well known lexicographer, journalist, translator and researcher. 

Talk-cum-workshop was held on 3rd November 2022, Thursday, from 8:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in room AG6, for S.Y.B.A and F.Y.B.A. (SEC and AECC) students.

Spelling Bee Competition

Department of English organized Spelling Bee Competition on 26th October 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 





A total of 7 teams (14 students) participated for the same.

2nd: Ayush Shetye & Parth Talawadekar (S.Y.BCom.)

'Creative Writing Towards the Light' (Essay writing competition)


 Department of English organized 'Creative Writing Towards the Light', an Essay writing competition on 14th October 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

For the students of F.Y./S.Y/T.Y.-BA and B.Com., in the Conference Hall. A total of 13 students participated. 


Topics: a) Future of sports in India.
b) Should mental health be priority?
c) Save our Soil
d) Goa - Found and Imagined.

Letter to the Editor (Competition)

Department of English organised a inter class competition for B.A. and BCom. students, titled 'Letter to the Editor' on 08th October 2022. A total of 27 students participated. 

There were a total of three judges for the competition namely  Dr. Rohit Phalgaokar History Dept, Dr. Nirmala de Abreu Commerce Dept. and Ms. Cherrie Joao Commerce Dept. 



The top five highest scores:

National Seminar hosted by the Department of English, Gogate-walke college, Banda, on the topic 'Indian Literature in Transition', on 1st October 2022. 


 Miss Vaibhavi Kavthankar and Miss Prasiddhi Khorjuvekar, students from T.Y.B.A. along with  Asst. Prof. Siddhi Sangle, attended the same.
