The Department of English was established in the year 1993. For the first two decades there was only one full-time faculty member, teaching language only. The department grew as the student strength gradually increased. In the year 2017, Literature was introduced under the choice-based credit system (CBCS). The department is presently in the process of setting up a language laboratory.
